Frustrating

Among one of the things I am trying to do with this blog is collect quotes that I find inspiring and true. This is inspired by my creative writing teacher (kudos to Jim Sorrell, RIP 2004) in high school. The Internet is rife with great quotes that are often wrong in some way. I get frustrated when I find one, and there is something wrong with it.

“I recommend caution when placing blind faith in what you consume via the Internet.”

Thomas Jefferson (obviously fake, I just made that up)

Very frustrating. So here is the quote that I wanted to share today.

“If you feel pain, you’re alive. If you feel other people’s pain, you’re a human being.”

Unknown

This is often attributed to Leo Tolstoy, but I can’t find a reference that confirms it. MUO is that people come up with good ideas they want to share and then tack on a “great author/statesperson/etc.” to cause it to go viral. Seems like it cheapens the whole thing. It is a little thing, but still very frustrating.
